Hit the Trails
In its early days, Olds was known locally as "Hay City" due to the abundant hay crops harvested annually. We have paid tribute to our early heritage by naming our trail system the "Hay City Trails". The trail system consists of both paved and unpaved trails, and trail routes incorporate our town streets.

Centennial Park is in the heart of Olds, close to the downtown area. Canada Day celebrations are held in the park on 1 July, and each year it’s also the site of our Olds Fashioned Christmas Light Up Festival, the last Saturday of November.
There are paved trails throughout Centennial Park. Check out the Horseshoe Pits at the south end!
Reserving Centennial Park Facilities
Are you having a Wedding, business gathering, or other medium- to large-sized event where you plan to use the Gazebo, Cookshack or space in Centennial Park? This park and all Town parks are public spaces and are open to the public at all times, so to avoid any conflicts or disappointment, call the Town of Olds Community Services department to book these facilities. We will post "reserved" signs in the park for you once you notify us of your event. There is no charge to use any parks facilities. Call Community Services at 403.507.4844 to book.
- Centennial Park is a great place for a family picnic, and the Gazebo and Cookhouse are available for private functions. The Gazebo is very popular for weddings! Both facilities have electrical outlets, with full washroom facilities nearby.
